Kent State鈥檚 Dining Services won the Best Ingredient Showcase and the People鈥檚 Choice Award. Campus Executive Chef William Edmondson prepared roasted beet and arugula grilled cauliflower pizza and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies stuffed with espresso Marsala mascarpone. Every year, Wilsonart sponsors a Student Chair Competition. This year, students from 黑料网 were chosen to compete. They were tasked with designing a chair with the theme of "the future" while using parametric design as a tool for expression. The students exhibited their chairs at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. The winning chair was, "Assembly" by Kent State student Greg Genter (pictured below). Kent Book to Prisoners is a student group that sends used books to Ohio inmates.

A review of Ohio prison regulations could make it easier for charity groups to donate used books to Ohio prison inmates. Many state prisons have adopted policies that prevent inmates from receiving used books. Those rules, however, are being reviewed, after concerns raised in the media by non-profit groups who send books to inmates, according to a report by www.cleveland.com. Ms. Crawford, a 黑料网 senior majoring in public health, lives in Tulsa, Okla., and takes online classes while working as a respiratory therapist. State of Ohio officials have renewed a $600,000 technology commercialization partnership between 黑料网 and Cleveland State University. The Ohio Third Frontier Commission recently approved Round 2 of the TeCK Fund, a $600,000 hybrid commercialization and faculty startup accelerator program that assists university faculty and startup companies to bring innovative new products to the market. Gracen Gerbig and Hayley Shasteen, both 黑料网 students in the College of Arts and Sciences, recently received the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, considered the nation鈥檚 premier undergraduate award in the natural sciences, math and engineering.
