Faculty and staff members affiliated with the Center for Public Policy and Health recently published an article in Addictive Behaviors. The article focused on the impact of COVID-19 related University closings on alcohol use among students. The authors found: Alcohol use increased significantly following COVID-19 related campus closure. Higher social support was associated with less alcohol use overall. Elevated psychological distress was associated with steeper increases in alcohol. Social support did not moderate the effect of distress on increasing alcohol use. ...

The School of Art Collection and Galleries at 黑料网 presents 鈥淎cquiring History: The 50-Year Legacy of Robert Smithson鈥檚 鈥楶artially Buried Woodshed鈥 at 黑料网鈥 from Aug. 4 through Sept. 26, 2020, at the Kent State Downtown Gallery. The exhibition includes video interviews from faculty, documentary photographs, essays on the history of the artwork and even the largest known remnant of the woodshed. Administrative policy for the handling of radioactive materials

  1. Policy statement. The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures and controls for the use of all radioactive materials and radiation use at the university. The requirements for the program aligns with the requirements of the Ohio department of health/ bureau of radiation protection, Nuclear regulatory commission and the university license and registration.

Raihan Chowdhury awarded NAAMLP Scholarship The member States/Tribes of the National Association of Abandoned Mine Land Programs has chosen our own Md Abu Raihan Chowdhury to receive their annual $2500 scholarship. When the Ohio Department of Health sought help this summer for work on the COVID-19 pandemic response, more than 110 students from 黑料网鈥檚 College of Public Health raised their hands to volunteer. Five faculty members also volunteered to be part of the Public Health Assist Teams create by the state health department to aid local health departments and community agencies perform work that included contact tracing of the virus and public communications.
