In 1972, 10 Kent State architecture students accompanied by faculty members traveled to Florence, Italy, to study for a few weeks. They didn’t have a building for classes or a formal academic program to guide them. No ºÚÁÏÍø faculty or staff members lived in the city. Yet, the impact of learning in the birthplace of the Renaissance was undeniable. An explosion occurred today in a building in Paris, France, that housed the Paris American Academy, where nine ºÚÁÏÍø students, plus faculty and staff are located. All Kent State students have now been accounted for and are safe. News reports indicate a gas leak may be to blame for a blast that sent more than two dozen people to the hospital.  The building is in the fifth arrondissement in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank of the River Seine. UPDATE: All nine Kent State students at the American Academy in Paris are safe and have been accounted for.  ºÚÁÏÍø is aware of an explosion that happened today (Wednesday)  in Paris, France. The explosion occurred in the fifth arrondissement in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank of the River Seine.  Kent State does have students at the Paris American Academy, where the explosion is believed to have originated.
