10 Questions With Darin Olson, Director of Athletic Bands

Darin Olson, D.M.A., is the new director of Athletic Bands at ºÚÁÏÍø. He leads the Marching Golden Flashes, Flasher Brass Pep Band, Kent Symphony Band and University Band. Olson is currently an active member of College Band Directors National Association and the National Association for Music Education. Kent State Receives Best in Class and Hall of Fame Honors for Supplier Diversity

ºÚÁÏÍø has won a Best in Class award for supplier diversity from the Greater Cleveland Partnership. This marks the third time that the university has received this award. As a multiyear winner of the Best in Class awards, Kent State is also named to the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Equity and Inclusion Hall of Fame.

Kent State Board of Trustees Commends Leadership for Strong Enrollment During Pandemic, Approves New Balanced Budget

A Message to the Kent State Community: Anti-Racism Task Force

Two recent incidents involving the painting of racist messages on the Rock located on Front Campus, coupled with the series of tragic national events this year involving the shootings of Black Americans, serve as glaring evidence that this university and our country need to do better when addressing racism and violence against Black Americans.

At Kent State, our core values of respect and kindness for all demand that we step up to become part of the conversation that leads to a solution that will dismantle the systemic racism that has plagued our communities throughout history, and our university all too recently.
