Christopher Fenk thinks science should be accessible to everyone. Through his research on using cell phones as lab equipment, Fenk is striving to provide classrooms with affordable alternatives to equipment that can typically cost anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000 per piece. Fenk, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at at Tuscarawas, used his faculty sabbatical to enhance the learning experience of others. Dr. Rachael Blasiman was recognized as the outstanding fulltime faculty member. She is an assistant professor of psychology and has taught on the Salem Campus for seven years. The No. 15 women’s golf team won its 19th straight Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women’s Golf Championship on April 23 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Silver Lake, Ohio. The Golden Flashes, who have won every championship tournament put on by the MAC, won the tournament by 34 strokes. The tournament hosts posted a final score of 11-over par 875 (289-299-288). The closest team to the Golden Flashes was second-place Northern Illinois at 45-over par.
