Kent State Tuscarawas mechanical and electrical engineering technology students successfully collaborated on their capstone project during the spring semester and delivered an electric cart on finals night. A class of 12 students, six from each program, worked together to design, fabricate and build a running electric cart as their project. Only 4 percent of federal funding is directed to childhood cancer research, leading to a scarcity of clinical trials advancing treatment. In order to address this inequity in childhood cancer funding, Kent State public relations students implemented a plan focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education at Kent State and at the Bio-Med Science Academy in Rootstown, Ohio.
