New Service and Repair Center

Over winter break, the Division of Information Technology, in cooperation with Residence Services, renovated the TechHelp Service and Repair Center (SRC) in the Tri Towers Rotunda. The renovation was inspired by the design and functionality of spaces such as Apple and Microsoft stores, with the primary goal of improving customer service. The removal of a large counter helped maximize space, allowing for the creation of five workspaces for staff members to provide one-on-one assistance to customers. Kent State Robotics Team Places Receives Third Place Award in NASA Robotics Mining Competition

Being a finalist in the NASA Robotic Mining Competition is a remarkable accomplishment in itself. Placing third in the entire nation was a surprise and a joy to the Kent State Robotics Team. 鈥淲e were very surprised to place third!鈥 said Madison Spreitzer, president of the organization from 2017-2018. 鈥淭his year was the best we have ever done as a team for this competition.鈥 From November 2017 to the day of the competition in May, the Kent State Robotics team spent months preparing for the competition held at the Kennedy Space Center. Herb Hochhauser at the Jewish Studies Program 40th Anniversary Celebration

Dr. Herbert Hochhauser passed away on January 1, 2019 at the age of 83. He was the director of the Ethnic Heritage and Jewish Studies Programs at Kent State from 1980 鈥 1999. In addition to his academic career he produced numerous films about the Holocaust and won seven Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences for these documentaries. Those awards will be displayed in the library for a time and thereafter will be found in the office of the Director of the Jewish Studies Program in Bowman Hall.
