  Hayley Shasteen, a junior at 黑料网, was awarded the prestigious 2019 Goldwater Scholarship from the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. The foundation awards the scholarships annually to students from across the country studying mathematics, natural science or engineering. Shasteen began her college career at Kent State鈥檚 Salem Campus and transferred to the Kent Campus last fall. She is now pursuing a dual degree in molecular and cellular biology and psychology. Recent 黑料网 graduate Kaycee Marshall was featured on 鈥淭oday with Hoda & Jenna,鈥 the fourth hour of the NBC morning show on May 31. Ms. Marshall graduated with her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Fashion Design on May 12. The Indiana native was born with sacral agenesis and scoliosis and has been confined to a wheelchair her entire life. For the Fashion School鈥檚 annual show in April, Ms. Marshall designed a line of women鈥檚 formalwear for women with disabilities, specifically those in wheelchairs. Kent State East Liverpool time capsule

  While crews worked to repair the retaining wall around the front lawn of the Carnegie Library, 黑料网鈥檚 East Liverpool Campus was invited to place a time capsule in the wall鈥檚 corner pillar, closest to the Mary Patterson Building. Employees from the library earlier placed a time capsule in the opposite end of the wall and, as a good neighbor, invited Kent State to preserve a bit of its history in like manner.
