KSU student athletes move in to campus

Students from all over the country began moving into Kent State residence halls, on a staggered schedule for COVID-19 safety, on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Move-in times were scheduled from the 18th through Sunday, Aug. 22. Some student volunteers were available to answer questions and assist new students in getting settled into their rooms. The Akron Pride Festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron. Dear School of Art Friends:  I am happy to be writing to you at the beginning of a new academic year. I would like to start by sharing some personal news. Beginning September 1, 2021, I will be shifting responsibilities as I become the new Associate Dean for the College of the Arts. I share this news with mixed emotions. Dean Angela Spalsbury and her staff have spent the summer back on campus at Kent State Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center, planning the safest and most flexible way forward so students can enjoy a seamless transition back to class in the Fall, starting August 26. “We are excited to be back to serve and meet the needs of our students,” Dr. Spalsbury says.
