This is the fourth annual budget update of my presidency. My goal each year is to provide a transparent and informative report on the financial health of Kent State and to do so in language that is accessible to someone, say, like me, who has no formal training in budgeting nor accounting. By the end of this report, if we accomplish what we set out to do, you should have as good an understanding of Kent State’s annual budget and performance as I do.

Presidential Fellow

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Ortiz, Ph.D., as the Kent State Presidential Fellow, beginning fall 2022. As the Fellow, Dr. Ortiz will work with the divisions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI); Academic Affairs; Research and Sponsored Programs; and the Office of the President in supporting the development of Kent State’s SEA Change action plan.
