Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies

The Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.S.) program provides a flexible, individualized, comprehensive undergraduate program that reflects students' goals and/or interests. The program's mission is to provide a unique undergraduate education designed to meet the needs of individuals who wish to function in an education, health, and human services setting, such as business and industry, non-licensure education settings, religious, community or interest, and advocacy groups.

Recreation, Park and Tourism Management

Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management

The Recreation, Park and Tourism Management B.S. program is perfect for students interested in sharing their passions and making a difference in people’s lives. From outdoor recreation, travel and sports, to camping, performing/visual arts and health and fitness.

Students majoring in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management can choose from three concentrations: Recreation Management, Park Management and Tourism Management.

Service to Others

Scholars explore their own unique passions, skills, and abilities and how they can be applied to have a positive impact on Kent State and beyond. 

  • Volunteer opportunities provided on-campus and throughout the community with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the King Kennedy Community Center
  • Travel experiences to learn about different cultures, provide service, and address social justice issues.

The Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPA) program began its seventh year of collaborating with the John Hay High School of Science and Medicine in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) by hosting a Day of Discovery. This Pathways program is designed for high school students to increase their awareness and knowledge of the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology.
