Rural Scholars - "Be Entrepreneurial"

The Rural Scholars program works to connect middle schoolers and high schoolers living in Columbiana County to their local surroundings and beyond. This has never been more apparent than from a summer full of four separate week-long workshops, and an autumn full of different career exploration workshops. International Day

Students and staff from the nursing program at Kent State Salem hosted International Day featuring food, music and displays of several cultures that represent the locations nursing students visited in recent years as part of their study abroad courses. Lakota Trip Fall 2016

Several students and faculty members from the Kent State Salem Campus began their fall semester with a trip to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in southern South Dakota, where they interacted with members of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe. This was the fifth trip to the reservation by students from the Salem Campus, offered through a transcultural nursing course that focuses on advancing cultural humility. Salem’s English Club Creates Stress-Free Zone for Finals Week

Students on the Kent State Salem Campus will find ways to help them get through finals week, thanks to the English Club and its Stress-Free Zone. Beginning Monday (Dec. 12) through Thursday (Dec. 15), Kent Salem students will be offered different ways to de-stress during daily sessions from 12-2 p.m. in the Student Lounge.
