Spin 50/50 begins Friday, Sept. 2, from 12:15-1 p.m. at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Spin 50/50 is an indoor stationary cycling class that improves your cardiovascular and muscular fitness with biking on simulated flat roads, hills and jumps, followed by off-the-bike strength training and core exercises. Kent State Volleyball players use power tools to help with Habitat home

After spending the first week of official practice focused on getting to know one another better on the court, as well as off the court during a two-night retreat, the Kent State volleyball team shifted their focus to helping out in the local community Saturday morning. All 16 players and members of the coaching staff volunteered for a few hours at a Habitat for Humanity home refurbishing site in Ravenna. Kent State Golfer Ian Holt Tees Off

Three men's golfers, Ian Holt, Chase Johnson and Tyler McHugh, are competing in the 116th U.S. Amateur Championship at the Oakland Hills Country Club. The seven day USGA event runs from Aug. 15-21. Started in 1895, the tournament is the oldest USGA championship. Some of golf's most illustrious names have won the tournament over the years, including Bobby Jones, Chick Evans, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods.
