The protected prairie surrounding ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Monday, April 23, at approximately 9 a.m. to allow for new growth during the summer season. The city of Kent Fire Department will conduct the controlled burning of the prairie, which has been a yearly practice since 2004. ºÚÁÏÍø at Salem again received the Tree Campus USA recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation, which recognizes its efforts to promote forest management, horticulture studies and conservation. The campus will celebrate this recognition during its Earth Day observances on Thurs., April 26, beginning at 10 a.m. on campus.
