We had 2,180 students attend an overview of Green Dot, and 213 students go through a bystander skill workshop. Additionally, 102 faculty and staff members participated in Green Dot for faculty and staff. Our staff grew as well. We welcome...
Since its start over 20 years ago, the Women’s Center has been a place to gather in the community, discuss the topics of the day and find ways to create positive change. Today is no different. Although some issues have changed (and many have stayed the same), the Women’s Center remains a hub of education, advocacy and action around issues impacting women in our communities. With our recent move from the Carriage House to the Williamson House and the transition of leadership, we took this opportunity to focus on the most important issues impacting women today. Building off the foundati...

Beginning in the fall of 1968, the Office of Minority Affairs was created within the Human Relations Center to serve as a liaison with and provide consultative and special services to minority groups, students, and organizations. The overall goal of the Office of Minority Affairs was for the students they served to realize their full educational potential as noted by Dr. Wilson in April of 1970. We all play a role in keeping ºÚÁÏÍø safe. Develop and/or increase peer support. Learn how to safely disengage someone from an unhealthy relationship. Positively influence others in the development of a healthy relationship. Provide support and recommend resources for healing. Get involved in university prevention and awareness activities and encourage others to do the same. Be an effective agent of change.
Students have an overarching reach with other students. Reinforce the need to make sexual and relationship violence prevention a priority within the university community. Communicate the need for healthy relationships and that it is easily understood. Recognize potential violent and/or dangerous situations and know when to intervene without putting yourself in danger. Communicate and recognize risk factors that influence behavior. Know who to contact for help and support.
