ºÚÁÏÍø announced that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Ashland, Ohio, native Lara Boman to a two-year term as a Graduate Student Trustee of the ºÚÁÏÍø Board of Trustees. Effective July 28, Boman’s term runs through May 16, 2025. As a student at the University of South Dakota, Boman earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in kinesiology and sport management. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Lara Boman of Ashland, Ohio, to a two-year term as a Graduate Student Trustee of the ºÚÁÏÍø Board of Trustees. Boman’s term began July 28, 2023, and ends May 16, 2025. She replaces Haley Crews, whose term as a Graduate Student Trustee recently expired. ºÚÁÏÍø Paris American Academy will not be open for students for fall 2023, but the program will resume operations in Paris, France, in January 2024. The students who registered for fall 2023 classes at the Paris American Academy can attend the New York City Fashion campus or Kent State Florence in Italy. An explosion occurred on June 21 in the historic building that housed the Paris American Academy, where nine Kent State students, plus faculty and staff, were located. The May 4 Visitors Center offers a special tour for Flashes 101 students! During the 50-minute class period, our staff and student guides show first-years through the Visitors Center and the outdoor Historic Landmark Site (weather depending). We tell the story of May 4, explain the landmarks they pass on campus, and illustrate how May 4 still impacts student life today.
