Residence Halls Reopen – Spring 2026
Residence halls will reopen on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026. Students new to housing for the spring semester may move in on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. Meal plans will also begin Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Eastway Dining Hall. For Dining Hours of Operation click HERE.
NEW students moving into the residence halls for spring semester must visit their Area Desk in order to be checked in. For the location of your Area Desk please click HERE.
Students—both returning and new—who need to arrive early can apply for early arrival via the .
Spring 2026 Housing Application is OPEN!
Students who want to live on campus for the spring semester can apply for housing . Spring housing assignments will be sent out the Week of January 5, 2026.
Apply for Housing - Are you under 18?
Students under 18 at the time of applying for housing must have a parent or guardian complete the Parent/Guardian Approval process before they can submit a housing application.
Incoming students may want to complete this process before the housing application is open - no problem! Incoming students can complete the Parent/Guardian Approval when they are fully admitted to Kent State.

University Housing Expands Sustainability Efforts with Ohio EPA Grant
University Housing is proud to announce a major step forward in its commitment to sustainability. In 2025, Tom Dietrich, Assistant Director of Residential Facilities, secured a $10,000 grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to support the installation of additional bottle filling stations across residence halls.
