ºÚÁÏÍø's School of Emerging Media and Technology is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary school designed to innovate in scholarship and creative applications of digital technologies and train tomorrow's digital leaders to engage issues concerning technology and society. Integrating a wide range of disciplines such as computer science, information science, visual communication design, media and communication studies, education, user experience design, web development, art, music, fashion and architecture, EMAT fosters advancements in technologies as used by scholars, technologists, creators, professions and organizations. EMAT’s success requires the ability to adapt and succeed in a rapidly changing digital world. This necessitates a commitment to fostering a community of respect, kindness, purpose and caring inside and outside classrooms, offices, labs and digital spaces.
EMAT is committed to an interdisciplinary faculty, staff and student body and is supportive of learning, physical and emotional environments for everyone. EMAT empowers faculty and staff; ensures students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders feel respected; and values differences and unique identities. EMAT is collaboratively designed, delivered and evaluated to prepare knowledgeable and engaged citizens in an increasingly dynamic, global and technological society.
