Where is the Homecoming Parade?

The parade will take off from the intersection of Johnston Drive and Summit Street by the 黑料网 Student Recreation and Wellness Center,鈥痑nd will travel along campus on Summit Street past the University Library and Kent Student Center. This is a slight change from last year鈥檚 route. More information will be sent out about these changes soon!

Is there an entry fee?

There is no cost for participating, but entries must be registered by鈥疐riday, Sept. 11 before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade.

When are registration forms due?

Registration forms are due鈥痮nline鈥痓y Friday, Sept. 11 before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade. Kent State student organizations, university departments, community organizations and schools, local politicians, etc. may use this鈥痶o register.

Will we have an assigned spot in the lineup? When will we know our assignment? Can we choose our spot?

Each entry will have an assigned spot. These assignments will be emailed to the contact person by鈥疻ednesday, Sept. 30 at the earliest before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade. Spots are assigned on a first-come, first serve basis as well as based on the type of entry. You are not able to choose your spot in the parade lineup.

Where should we park?

If you will be returning to campus, you may park at a variety of campus lots. Parking near the Kent Student Center is recommended as this is where the parade grandstand and community block party is located. If you have questions about parking for the parade, please reach out to the Center for Student Involvement at csi@kent.edu and/or 330-672-2480. 

How long is the parade?

The parade will take approximately 1-1 陆 hours from step off to conclusion. The parade route is approximately 0.60 miles long.
