Day One

Day Two

A 7:00am departure from your hotel begins your van tour of mountains, cloud forests and a banana plantation. Your first stop is an exciting whitewater raft trip on world-famous Class III & IV rivers. Then you'll board a riverboat for an exciting trip upriver to the island paradise known as Jungle Tarpon Lodge. Settle into your deluxe rooms at the private lodge, followed by happy hour and excellent local cuisine, and then evening alligator spotting. Overnight at the lodge.

Day Three

Take a boat trip to Rio California and lagoons within the jungle. Follow a nature trail reserve that borders the ocean on one side and the river on the other, spotting Howler Monkeys, Iguana, Sloth, and the wild birds and plants of the rainforest canopy. In the evenings of June, July and August, we'll explore the famous turtle beaches.

Day Four

We'll spend the day exploring Tortuguero National Park. This is the treasured home of the Loggerhead, Green, Hawksbill and Leatherback Sea Turtles. If egg-laying occurs during your stay, you may choose to stay up late to witness the incredible spectacle of watching the turtles fulfill their ages-old duty. Walk sand beaches in the afternoon and catch some rays - a great day. Overnight at the lodge.

Day Five

Today we'll head to Arenal Volcano. En route you'll harness up for a treetop tour of the Cloud Forest jungle. Following this exciting tour you'll settle into a wonderful resort in view of the sights and sounds of one of the world's most active volcanoes. Overnight at Arenal.(Four-day guests will return to San Jose by van after breakfast.)

Day Six

Following breakfast, depart for the quaint artisan community of Saarchi. This area is famous for its coffee, woodworking and creative people that make great handicrafts. Return by van to San Jose.
