Ron Tannenbaum
Biography
Ron Tannenbaum鈥檚 work bridges academic inquiry and contemporary architectural practice. He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University Honors Program. His academic experience includes teaching at Pratt Institute and participating in the admissions committee while at Columbia University. His academic work has been published and exhibited, including features in Columbia University鈥檚 Abstract volumes, exhibition at the Royal Institute of British Architects, and he was recognized as the Columbia University Kinne Fellow.
Professionally, Tannenbaum spent approximately 15 years at Gehry Partners Architects as an Associate and project leader on major international cultural, institutional, and commercial projects. His experience includes leading multidisciplinary teams on complex works such as the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Novartis Headquarters in Basel, the Facebook-Meta Menlo Park and Seattle campuses, and a custom furniture line for Vitra A.G.. His work at Gehry Partners has been widely published in Architectural Record, GA Projects, Abitare, and The New York Times, and reflects a strong focus on formal complexity, design leadership, and rigorous documentation using advanced BIM processes.
He currently practices at RDL Architects, where his work is focused on multifamily and mixed-use developments across the United States. A significant portion of his work centers on affordable housing for underserved communities鈥攚ork that aligns design excellence with social responsibility. This focus reflects a commitment to providing meaningful architectural solutions that support families in need while navigating the technical, economic, and regulatory demands of contemporary development.
