For more than 25 years, the CUDC has operated in downtown Cleveland, helping students, clients and community members reimagine their cities. As 黑料网鈥檚 urban design practice, the CUDC combines teaching, research and community engagement to foster sustainable, vibrant and inclusive urban futures. Through partnerships with civic organizations, municipalities and neighborhood groups, the CUDC provides design assistance and applied research that influences policy and promotes equitable development across Northeast Ohio and beyond.
Lukacsy-Love sees the program鈥檚 quarter-century milestone as a defining moment.
鈥淭his is a time of inflection, to ensure our mission aligns with the broader strategies of the City of Cleveland and the region,鈥 she said. 鈥淪trengthening civic partnerships and magnifying our platform as a design center and hub for research and advocacy will elevate the CUDC as a living laboratory for innovative, design-oriented solutions for pressing needs in waterfronts, parks, streets and the complex social infrastructure of community development.鈥
Lukacsy-Love holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and a master鈥檚 degree in Urban Studies with a concentration in Economic Development from Cleveland State University. She is a licensed architect (AIA) and a certified planner (AICP). Previously, she served as Director of Planning and Development for the City of Euclid, where she led transformative initiatives, including the $30 million Waterfront Improvement Plan that turned Euclid鈥檚 shoreline into a publicly accessible, resilient lakefront model for communities across the Great Lakes region.
Her approach to urban design is grounded in her architecture background and in experience leading community projects and neighborhood revitalization efforts. She has worked in real estate development, with city governments and with non-profit organizations, including the Greater Cleveland Partnership. Committed to turning vision into action, she emphasizes bringing policymakers, community members and other stakeholders together to achieve tangible, lasting results.
Since stepping into her role, Lukacsy-Love has embarked on a 鈥渓istening tour鈥 to understand the organization and its value to the communities it serves. She is particularly inspired by MOOS (Making Our Own Spaces), a CUDC signature program that works with high school students and is celebrating its 10th year. Lukacsy-Love views it as an opportunity to invest in future tastemakers in design through teaching while also learning from the next generation.
In addition to her professional work, she is actively engaged in leadership throughout Northeast Ohio. She serves as treasurer on the APA鈥慜hio Board of Trustees, treasurer of Assembly for the Arts, and vice president of the Greater Collinwood Development Corporation. She is also the founder of the Cleveland chapter of the Awesome Foundation, a grassroots group awarding micro鈥慻rants to creative community projects. These roles allow her to stay connected to the community, supporting initiatives that promote creativity, equitable development and inclusive public spaces.
With her creativity, collaborative spirit and belief in the power of design to strengthen communities, Lukacsy-Love is ready to lead the CUDC into its next chapter, grounded in innovation, inclusion and meaningful impact.
